Volunteers smiling on the crown of the Resonance Tree at dusk on the playa

It stood

The Resonance Tree premiered at Burning Man 2026: raised by volunteers on open playa, climbed at sunrise, danced under at night.

In the last week of August the Tree went up for the third and final time this season — first on a Bali workshop floor, then in a Sierra forest for the practice raise, and finally on the open playa of Black Rock City, where it premiered at Burning Man 2026.

It did what it was designed to do. The crew that raised it had, in most cases, never lashed bamboo before this summer. Through the week people climbed to the crown at sunrise, gathered in the shade at noon, and danced under the lantern canopy at night. The open lattice took the desert wind it was engineered for.

Photography from the premiere is landing across the site now, and the full as-built engineering record follows as it is finalized. The Tree comes home ready for what is next: it travels, it rents, and the next pieces are already on the drafting table. If you want it — or something that does not exist yet — the door is at /commission.
