Asked before every booking

How far ahead do I need to book?

The Tree and the Shade Pavilion are based in Nevada City, California, and are available to book now. A rental books best with a few months of lead time for site review and logistics; custom builds run three to nine months from first sketch. If your date is closer, ask anyway — the calendar sometimes allows it.

What does hosting the Tree involve?

Site visit, an anchoring plan for your ground, delivery in one 26′ box truck, a crew raise, a programmed run of lighting and sound to suit the venue, and a clean strike. You provide ground, power, and dates; we handle the build.

Can guests climb it?

The accessible nets and platforms are engineered to a 100 psf live load. Access can be hosted with staffed hours or gated, per venue.

How does it handle weather?

It premiered in the Black Rock Desert — engineered to a 90 mph design gust, with dust, heat, and cold nights. Bamboo is treated and inspected before every raise.

Are you insured?

General liability with a certificate of insurance naming your venue as additional insured, available on request.

How are fees structured?

By duration — event weekend, season, or longer placement — quoted per venue. Custom commissions typically run $30,000–$250,000 all-in. Fees and the technical rider are available on request.
